
Ground beef-tomato-mozzarella dish |

A traditional combination of ground beef, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese that may also be served as part of your warm buffet. |

Ingredients

2 slices white bread |
|
|
2 tablespoons milk |
|
|
400 grams ground beef |
|
|
salt and pepper |
|
|
5 1/2 teaspoons basil, ground |
|
|
2 cloves garlic, minced |
|
|
3 whole tomatoes |
|
|
150 grams mozzarella cheese |
|
|
1 whole lemon |
|
|
4 leaves basil, chopped |
|
|
1 tablespoon olive oil |
|
|

Instructions
|
|
|
Cut the crust of the bread slices and soak the bread in the milk for 10 minutesin a bowl. Mash the bread, add the ground beef, salt and pepper, basil and minced garlic and mix well.
|
|
|
Form 12 discs from the ground beef mixture and cook these in a non-stick skillet in approximately 5 minutes. Turn the beef and cook another 10 minutes with the lid on the skillet until almost done. Flip every now and then.

|
Coat a oven resistant dish with cooking spray.
|
|
|
Wash the tomatoes and cut them in slices, 12 in total. Cut the Mozzarella cheese in 12 slices. Place the beef discs, tomatoes and mozzarella slices in the oven disch alternately.

|
|
Wash the lemon and rind the skin. Mix the rind with the chopped fresh basil leaves and sprinkle this over the dish. Disperse the oil over the dish and cover the dish with aluminum foil.
|
|
|
Preheat the oven to 225 degrees C / 435 degrees F.
|
|
|
Bake the dish in the middle of the oven for 15 minutes. Remove the aluminum foil and bake another 5 minutes.
