Mezza Zita (half Zita) belong to the hollowed dried pasta family. They have an elongated and rounded section and they originate from Campania. As tradition wants it this format should be broken by hand before tossed in the boiling water.
Mezze Zite are usually used in the making of both baked casseroles and dried pasta dishes with Neapolitan ragù or alla genovese, with a sprinkle of parmisan or percorino cheese.
